Announcement :

NEW SCHOOL UNIFORMS SURVEY: Kia Ora e te whānau,  I am looking at changing our school uniforms with additional pieces. I would appreciate your input to gather thoughts around what our new uniform could look like and how adding pieces such as a P.E. uniform for our senior students could impact whānau. The reason behind the change is our off shore suppliers have increased their prices. I have sourced a local manufacturer to hold and supply stock for our uniforms. The process behind the change of uniforms is as follows:   Gather student voice   Gather Whānau voice   Gather Staff voice   Share findings with whānau, staff, students    Present responses to the School Board   Whānau, staff, students are notified of the outcome and possible changes timeline     Could you all please take a moment to check the new designs, vote and answer a couple of questions. Click on the link below to access the survey:  Waatea School uniform change survey Ngā mihi nui, Whaea ZaraWaatea School Principal

Success is not the work of one but the work of many.

Kia Ora e te whanau,

What a first week back we have had! It was awesome to spend the day out as a kura today while we navigated, questioned, shared, and discovered lots of new and exciting learning items. A big mihi to the parents who joined us today; Chrissie and Huru, Simon and Anastasia, Daphne, Ngareta, Nikita, Caelan, and we even had an ex student Lamarn join us too! Thank you for your support today, it would have not been as successful as it was without you all today! Please read through the pānui below, there are some important reminders as we progress through the term.

Ngā mihi

Auckland Museum – Friday 6th May, 2022

5.30pm-6.30pm @ Waatea School

Please enter the top gate ONLY. We will be gathering on the top field. This is an opportunity to share your stories, your whanau stories, and connect with our tamariki and kaiako around a campfire. This has been organised as part of our learning kaupapa for the year. More information to follow on Monday 9

Pick Up and Drop Offs

Friendly reminder that our tamariki need to be dropped off and picked up at the top gate (By the bus bay area). The entrance to the marae is a busy area in the mornings and afternoons and its important to adhere to the health and safety guidelines for our staff and tamariki.

Lollies, Lunches, and Items

Please remember that we have a strict NO LOLLIES, NO PHONES, NO ITEMS (Unless sharing for learning), NO BUBBLE GUM, NO FIZZY policy. If any child is seen to have brought any of these items in, they will be confiscated and returned at the end of the day.
